Legislative Update

2017 Legislative Priorities
PAMED's state legislative priorities include:
* Streamlining the prior authorization and credentialing processes
* Continuing to combat the opioid abuse crisis
* Standardizing Pennsylvania Orders for Life-Sustaining
Treatment (POLST)
* Advancing telemedicine
* Preserving physicians' clinical autonomy and physician-led,
team-based care

Advocacy Day 2017 - Member early career physicians, residents,
and medical students are invited to attend PAMED's Advocacy Day
on May 23, in Harrisburg, to talk to legislators about important
issues, including prior authorization, credentialing, and non-compete

Care Centered Collaborative
* At a recent Board meeting, the PMSCO Board of Directors
voted on a new name - PMSCO is now the Care Centered
Collaborative (CCC). There are two initial service offerings:
1. MIPS Reporting and MACRA Readiness - The CCC
is offering preferred access to nationally renowned Mingle
Analytics to bring physicians industry leading Medicare
quality reporting products and services for MIPS and the
Quality Payment Program. Mingle's MIPS consulting
expertise is tailored to your practice needs, allowing you to
make the right decisions and accurately report your data to

* School Immunization Regulations - The state's new school
immunization regulations are set to take effect on Aug. 1. Learn

* Open Payment Review & Dispute Period Underway -

Physicians have until May 15 to review and dispute Open
Payments data on payments and other transfers of value made to
physicians by drug or device companies before it becomes public.

* Interstate Medical Licensure Compact on Hold - Although
the law has passed in Pa., Gov. Wolf must sign the Interstate
Compact for it to go into effect. To date, the governor has
not signed due to concerns raised by the FBI. Learn more

for PAMED's 10-month comprehensive leadership training
