Judge of the Western District of Pennsylvania. Again, held in
Courtroom "A," the ceremony was also attended by most of the
Montgomery County Bench. This ceremony was a resounding
success, with more than 60 attorneys in total being moved into
the Eastern and Western Districts. Thank you to the co-chairs of
the Federal Courts Committee, Cary Flitter and Greg Voshell,
for a job well done.
Dinner Dance
On May 19, 2017, the Association held its Annual Dinner
Dance at the Philadelphia Country Club in Gladwyne. With
perfect weather on the Terrace, excellent music and dancing,
and a raw bar and gourmet stations scattered throughout the
ballroom, the format for this event has been reshaped and
refreshed. At the conclusion of cocktails, 205 guests enjoyed
the night moving about the room, networking, talking at the
bar, dancing, and eating from the various stations. For me it
was truly a night to remember, and it is my sincere hope that
the changed format continues to evolve to reflect the changing
preferences of our diverse membership.
Lawyerpalooza
2017 marks the 30th year of the good work of the
Montgomery Bar Foundation. In celebration of that benchmark,
the Foundation sponsored a unique, live benefit concert
event, Lawyerpalooza, at the Ardmore Music Hall, on June
1, 2017. Various lawyer-led musical performances filled the
night to a crowd of attorneys, judges, staff, family, friends, and
community members. A special thank you to the guest emcee,
the Honorable Gary S. Silow, and surprise vocal performer,
the Honorable Thomas C. Branca. The Foundation broke new
ground with this special event, and it was nothing short of a
total success.
