to our Community
I
n response to several community health needs assessments
that have been done over recent years, Lackawanna County
Medical Society (LCMS), with financial support from Commonwealth Health, coordinates a series of community health
programs that are broadcast on Electric City Television (ECTV),
Scranton's premier public access network serving an audience
of thousands of households in the greater Scranton community.
Each segment in the series features local talk show host Laurie
Cadden, and a panel of local medical and health care professionals
Programs run approximately 30 minutes. The purpose of these
programs is to provide the public with useful and easy-to-understand information on a variety of health issues and advances in
medicine to prevent and treat diseases and conditions. Programs
are intended to be a dialogue discussion of signs and symptoms,
diagnosis, treatment options, recovery, and life after diagnosis.
In addition to airing on ECTV, programs are also posted on
the Public Health Education Series page of the LCMS website:

to be comfortable with their doctors so that they can ask questions to receive the best possible health care.
