Accreditation indicates the facility is operating

regard to such matters as appropriately ordering x-ray studies, lab tests and antibiotics, and
is following strict standards for protection of
patient privacy. Authorities from the NUCCA
inspected the office, reviewed charts, policies
and verified the credentials of staff members.

Regional Hospital of Scranton
First Hospital in Nation to
Receive Full Cardiac Cath Lab
Accreditation

On January 9, 2017, Commonwealth Health
Regional Hospital  of Scranton was the  first
hospital in the nation to receive full Cardiac
Cath Lab Accreditation from the  American
College of Cardiology. Justin Davis, CEO of
Regional and Moses Taylor hospitals, said the
cardiac cath lab accreditation is validation that
Northeastern Pennsylvania residents have access
to exceptional care in their own backyard.

Unveils New Dispatch Center

On January 30, 2017, Commonwealth Health
Emergency Medical Services unveiled a new
dispatch center designed to enhance operational efficiencies and patient care by creating
more accurate deployment times. The dispatch
center is located at CHEMS headquarters on
Remington Avenue. The center's new software

Valley Walk-in Clinic Updates
Hours

Effective March 6, 2017, the hours of operation
at the Commonwealth Health Mid Valley Walk-in
Clinic changed to: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.
to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 9a.m. to
4:30 p.m. Appointments are not necessary for the
clinic at 1400 Main St., Blakely, on the grounds
of the former Mid Valley Hospital.

Anyone trying to reach the Hospital should
call 570-770-3000. The new phone number
for the hospital laboratory is 570-770-4100.
The new phone for the radiology department

Geisinger Health System
Relaunches Prayer-Net Website
Effective April 17, 2017, Geisinger Health System
relaunched its Prayer-Net website, (Geisinger.
org/PrayerNet), an online community offering
patients and their families comfort, support and
prayer. With PrayerNet, patients can request
prayer, share their prayer request with loved
ones around the world and pray for others.
