to improve patient care and outcomes across the organization,
while contributing to advancements in the field of behavioral
health care.
6. Advocacy and public education: As an industry leader,
advocacy and education are at the heart of Devereux's mission.
Through legislative efforts, industry initiatives and community
engagement, the organization highlights the importance of the
reintegration of physical and behavioral healthcare, both ensuring whole-person health and helping to end the stigma facing
people with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences.
"A key element in Devereux's organizational DNA is to have an
abiding discontent with the status quo - always reaching higher for
breakthrough results for individuals in our care," noted Kreider. "Our
founder said we must 'always be en route' - continually pursuing new
innovations and learning to advance services, the industry as a whole,
and the lives of those we serve."
As the organization looks to the next 100 years and beyond, Kreider

Since its origins in a small classroom in Philadelphia in the
early 1900s, Devereux has provided groundbreaking services to
individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities,
including Autism Spectrum Disorders and emotional and/or
behavioral differences.
