Yocum Institute for Arts Education
Offers Summer Programs for Toddlers through Teens
he Yocum Institute for Arts Education has been promoting
and teaching the arts in our community for more than 80
years, and has expanded its summer offerings for children
Located at 1100 Belmont Ave. in Wyomissing, the Institute is
a community treasure, serving more than 18,000 people a year
through private instruction, on-site classes, exhibits, productions,
outreach programs and summer camps.
Summer Arts Connection is a summer-long program that features
fun, innovative and creative camps for children and youth between
the ages of 2 and 15. Whether it's "Stealthy Spaghetti and Fruit
Ninjas," "Sheep in a Jeep," or "Urban Myths and Legends," there
is something new for campers to learn and create during half and
full-day camps lasting from one to three weeks.
At the Yocum Institute, acting, dancing, visual art and music all
combine under a weekly theme, built to stretch a child's imagination.
Each theme encourages children to think actively and engage with
the world and their peers in a new way.
