West Reading Avenues Summer 2017 - 5
Opening Day at the Outdoor
West Reading Farmers' Market
he 11th season of the West Reading Outdoor Farmers'
Market kicked off last month with a festive opening day.
The market will be open every Sunday through Nov. 5,
giving shoppers a chance to purchase the freshest produce available,
along with specialty foods, baked goods and more. The market
runs from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m along the 500 block of Penn Avenue
and Sixth Avenue.
There are 30 vendors this year which included the new Eight Oak
Craft Distillers from New Tripoli. They offered sampling from
their small batch artisan spirits. The Two Jabroni's comprised of
Charlie Wanyo & Andy Burasz entertained the crowd at the market.
Bleiler's Produce Patch had delicious asparagus and rhubarb for sale.
Benchwarmers Coffee Company had a line out of their shop door
as I picked up a cup of coffee and a bag of Organic Sumatra beans.
B&H Organic Produce offered many Summer transplants to build
your garden.Sully at the Primordia Mushroom Farm offered a quick
explanation on a few fresh mushroom selections. We opted for a
carton of mixed mushrooms.
The other new vendor that West Reading warmly welcomed was
The Dog Gourmet out of Mohnton. They offered an array of dog
healthy dog treats which a few types sold out. They welcomed the
many dogs on the Avenue with water bowls at their stand.
