Thank you to Tracy Hoffmann and the folks at Hoffmann
Publishing Group and West Reading Avenues magazine who
are allowing us the opportunity to share all the great things
going on in our area. We are at the beginning of a tremendous
growth spurt here in West Reading, thanks to the development
of the VF property, and everything going on in the 400 block
of Reading Avenue.
I have been on the Avenues for 20+ years starting with the
Salon Salon Coffee shop, located where Say Cheese is now. The
Avenues have experienced a lot of growth and positive changes
along the way. Thanks also to Christen Kelly, my predecessor,
who brought a sense of energy, youth and style to the Avenues.
She left our Main Street much better than when she found it.
I hope to be able to say the same when I leave.
Thanksgiving is always a meaningful holiday, but this year,
families seem especially eager to celebrate life's blessings. People
are looking for ways to acknowledge what's good in their lives
and to help their children make the most of the holidays and
plan activities that can become part of their family's traditions.
Traditions are one of the things I love about small towns, and
our area, especially.
It is the Rockwellian lifestyle we can live here, the sense of
place and community we have. The lighting of the Christmas
Tree, Carriage Rides, Carolers, running into old friends as
you walk along the Avenues on a crisp holiday evening. That
along with our Run Santa Run, Holiday First Fridays, Wine
Walks, Store Specials and more, fill our streets with life, joy
and a sense of community that make West Reading and Berks
County one of the best places to live in Pa. To find out more
