Don't be penny wise, but pound foolish. An inspection
of your heating system is not overly expensive, and can
result in big savings. A qualified technician will recognize a small problem with your system and be able to
correct it before it becomes a major repair or results
in you being without heat. Spending a little money up
front can save you a lot at the back end.

Many heating contractors will give priority scheduling to customers who experience problems with their
heaters after they've been serviced prior to the start of
the heating season. While having your system inspected before you start using it significantly reduces your
risk of waking up in a very cold house, things happen
and heating systems sometimes stop working. Most
companies will respond quickly to a customer whose
system was serviced before the cold set in.

Assure that you'll get the longest life possible from your
system. It's a proven fact that heating systems that are

Changing the filters regularly, having regular service

and having the refrigerant insulation checked and
replaced as necessary can significantly increase the
longevity of your heating system.

which are completely avoidable. Making sure your
filter is clean and your air cleaner is working properly
will ensure proper airflow throughout your heating
system and your home, resulting in more even heating
throughout. Making sure that the air cleaner, filter and
humidifier are working properly can do wonders for
the air quality and comfort level of your home.

Reduce your carbon footprint. A heating system that's
not working properly consumes more energy. That
means that you end up paying more, and using energy
in an unnecessary manner.

contract might be a good idea, Lord advised. UGI and other
HVAC companies offer a variety of contracts with a range of
services and prices.
Also, she said, some companies offer pre-season special
offers for inspections and servicing of heating systems, making
now an even better time to call your contractor.
