OPPORTUNITY TO SUPPORT
YOUR LOCAL MEMBER
On February 23, 2018 our very own Kert Sloan of Aluminum
Associates will be inducted as the 2018 President of the Pennsylvania Builders Association (PBA) to be held at the Hilton DoubleTree. Kert has been a 3-time Past President of our local Berks
County Association and has served on the Board of Directors of
the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) for 10 years.
This year at the NAHB Mid-Year Board Meeting he was presented
with his Life Director Award as many of you may have heard.
The upcoming President of PBA can pick where they would like
to hold their Installation Banquet and Kert has chosen to bring it
close to home. The banquet will be held on that Friday night, but
Friday during the day will be the Committee Meetings that anyone
who is a member can attend. The Board Meeting will be Saturday
morning at 10 am and once again anyone who is a member can
attend. The only time the meetings are not open to all members is
when they go into an Executive session.

These members understand the important role legislation plays in their
businesses and the importance of electing and supporting legislators who are
sensitive to the issues affecting the building industry.

Kert thought this could be a perfect opportunity for our local
members to have the opportunity to attend a PBA meeting and/
or event. It would allow members to socialize with other members
across the state and find out more about what PBA does for us. If
not able to attend any of the meetings maybe you could at least
be able to attend the banquet and/or sponsor it to show your
support for one of your very own members.
This is just the start of the information you will be receiving prior to
February. There will be more information coming in December's
AHIB issue regarding the agenda for the weekend and what other
opportunities may exist to socialize with other members across
the state in your local area. Email blasts will go out with some of
this information as well, so if you don't want to miss out I suggest
you open your emails from HBA Berks County.
