InDustry neWs nmma Canada members participate in Boat shows in emerging markets in 2015 Foreign Affairs, trade development Canada has for the third year in a row granted nmmA Canada a contribution to support Canadian recreational marine manufacturers interested in developing their business in overseas markets. the nearly $34,000 allowed nmmA Canada members to attend and exhibit at the April 2015 shanghai International Boat show showcasing Canadian products under a Canadian pavilion. the exhibit was double the size of last year and one new exhibitor was added. Boating Ontario association Regional Meetings Recap - May 2015 every spring Boating ontario staff travel the province hosting regional meetings. Boating ontario members and non-members are invited to participate as the association wants input on various challenges members are facing with their businesses and issues that are affecting the entire marine industry.  each region has their own specific concerns. For example, in southwestern ontario the border issues and the use of e99 and e29B forms with the Canada Border service Agency is of high priority; in northern ontario, the tssA new standards on fuel tanks and gas dock operations is a very hot topic; on the trent severn waterway and the rideau Canal the hours of operation and lack of boaters is an ongoing concern. Boating ontario recognizes all of these challenges and continues to find resolutions that will benefit their members and boaters making our sport more enjoyable for everyone.  Additional topics discussed at the regional meetings included: Boat shows, ethanol Free Fuel, water lot lease negotiations, property taxes, discover Boating, Boating ontario Insurance program and Clean marine.  with new health and safety regulations being implemented on a regular basis by the ministry of labour, Boating ontario encourages members to ensure they are in compliance. Boating ontario now offers the following training opportunities:  1. student marine safety training  2. health & safety training for owners, managers and supervisors  3. online safety training the ministry of training, Colleges and universities now offers employers the opportunity to apply for a grant of up to $10,000.00 per employee under the www.boatingindustry.ca 5 http://www.boatingindustry.ca
