sheet system exits the end of the boom
and runs forward from the mast before
running down the sidedecks. With both
jib and main sheets running to the rear
self-tailing winches, they are within
reach of the helm and make for easy
double-handed sailing. The flush
mounted, full-width mainsheet traveler
is found in the deck floor just in front of
the twin steering wheel system, also
making it easy to tweak by the skipper.
When not sailing, the main sheet disconnects from the traveler to be stored
on a pad eye on either side of the boat.
The open, spacious cockpit offers one
of the most generous spaces in the 38foot boat size and makes it easy for racing crews to get around as well as
entertaining guests on a beautiful

located in the cockpit table.
In keeping with the sleek lines, the
continuous, molded toe rails ensure
that water rolls right down the side and

out the back of the boat keeping passengers dry. Add to that the coachroof 's
rounded surfaces, flush-fitting deck
hatches, sheets that run under the
coachroof, and drop-down cleats to create low drag (the serious racer likes
that) and safe, trip-free, uncluttered
decks (which is well appreciated by the
cruiser). Underneath it all is a hull constructed with Vinylester resin and vacuum-bagged to the balsa sandwich that,
from a moisture intrusion concern, has
a better adhesion to the lightweight
balsa sandwich construction.
Moving up from the deck is a Selden
keel-stepped, tapered mast that runs
17.82m above the waterline to support
a fully battened mainsail and 105% jib
for a total 79.3m2 sail plan. The selftailing power winch easily raises the
sails and then the mainsail easily drops
down into the boombag, which the
owners thoroughly enjoy (especially the
wife!). They also opted for the shoal
