Student Affairs & CAREER SERVICES OFFICE The Student Affairs & Career Services Office at La Verne Law offers a comprehensive array of programs and services to assist La Verne Law students have a happy, healthy, and successful law school experience and will assist our law students and alumni prepare for and succeed in their careers. The Student Affairs Office works with law students throughout their law school tenure from hosting events to acclimate them to law school including New Student Enrollment Day and Orientation to celebrating their accomplishments by hosting the Awards Ceremony to Commencement and the Bar Swearing In Ceremony both crowning achievements. In between, the Student Affairs Office acts as the student's advocate providing counseling services and guidance along the way. w firms, businesses, government agencies, public interest rk in small to medium sized law firms spread around h other types of legal and non-legal employers. Class of 2012 Employment by Law Firm Size Small Sized Law Firm 2-10 attorneys 82% Medium Sized Law Firm The Career Services Office, through one-on-one career counseling sessions, mock interviews, mentoring, and other programs, prepare our students to graduate from La Verne Law ready to succeed in a professional setting The Career Services Office will also review student's resumes, cover letters, and writing samples and offer practical advice on matters such as negotiating job offers. We streamline the process of looking for employment by hosting or arranging student's participation in career fairs both on campus and offsite and through our web based job bank, Symplicity, which can be accessed by students, alumni, and prospective employers. Because the law school is situated in the expansive metropolis of San Bernardino County and near other large counties including Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside, La Verne Law student have access to a wide range of employment options through participation in externships, and in paid law clerk position with local law firms and corporate legal departments.
