Isaacson was born in New Orleans in 1952 and
graduated from the city's Isidore Newman School. He
attended Harvard University and was an Oxford University
Rhodes scholar. He worked as a journalist for the Sunday
Times of London and the New Orleans
States-Item and Times-Picayune. In
1996 Isaacson became the 14th editor

the past decade, he has served as CEO
of the Aspen Institute, a nonpartisan
educational and policy studies
