Named for the divine messenger of the ancient Greek gods and patron of merchants and travelers, Hermes was founded in 1937 by a group of civic-minded businessmen concerned about below: "The Hand of Attis" float sketch by Scott Garver and Manuel Ponce for the 2011 Hermes parade, The Court of the Great Mogul.
