Neal Auction Company Luis Graner attended the Escuela de Bellas Artes in his hometown of Barcelona, Spain. In 1886, he was awarded a scholarship from the Barcelona Provincial Council to study in Paris, France, where he thrived in artistic social circles and garnered international acclaim for portraiture, genre scenes, and landscapes. From 1914 to 1922, Graner lived and painted in New Orleans, where he created hundreds of what are considered among his finest works: simple, dignified landscapes marked with impressionistic mastery of broken-brushstroke technique and heightened color.
