Surgelé : le groupe Frial-Erimer poursuit
son développement aux États-Unis
Le groupe normand de produits
surgelés, déjà implanté en Amérique
du Nord, compte décupler sa présence sur ce territoire d'ici à la fin
de l'année. « C'est un de nos axes
de développement prioritaire pour
2018 », poursuit le responsable.

des ambitions. Déjà présente sur le marché canadien, la filiale
de Nomad Foods Europe collabore avec le très médiatisé
chef Jamie Oliver sur plusieurs recettes de produits de la mer
depuis 2012. Leur gamme Jamie Oliver by Findus est un succès en Angleterre et la marque compte sur la popularité du
chef pour percer outre-Atlantique.

de proposer des produits français
aux Américains mais de créer des
produits adaptés à leurs attentes
et leurs goûts », précise Philippe
Rustichelli.
Pour autant, les recettes continueront d'être élaborées en France,
dans le centre de R & D de Frial, basé
à Bayeux (Calvados). L'entreprise
mise aussi sur ses savoir-faire en
nutrition pour séduire les take-away,
circuits de restauration à emporter.
Le groupe leur propose des produits
surgelés IQF enrobés qui plaisent
aux Américains, mais sous la forme
de recettes complètes.

Frozen products: the Frial-Erimer group develops
further in the United States

"There is a very high demand for
seafood products in the United
States," points out Philippe
Rustichelli, president of FrialErimer. Seafood enjoys an image
of healthy and natural products,
criteria increasingly popular among
consumers across the Atlantic.
The group from Normandy producing frozen products already
established in North America,
intends to increase its presence in
this area by the end of the year. "This

is one of our priorities for development this year," the manager adds.
Frial is taking a new step by accelerating its development of raw and
coated seafood products in the
United States. Already experienced
in the development of specific recipes for this market: "Our intention
is not to offer French products to
Americans but to create products
which meet their expectations and
tastes," Philippe Rustichelli explains.

However, recipes will continue
to be created in France, in the R&D
centre of Frial, based in Bayeux
(Calvados). The company also
relies on its expertise in nutrition to
seduce the take-away food circuits.
The group offers them coated IQF
frozen products which appeal to
Americans, but in the form of complete recipes.

market. Present at the Boston Seafood Expo, Findus also
displays ambitions. Already active in the Canadian market, the subsidiary of Nomad Foods Europe has been working with well-known chef Jamie Oliver on several seafood
recipes since 2012. Their Jamie Oliver by Findus line is a
success in England and the brand counts on the popularity
of the chef to break through the Atlantic.

de plus en plus plébiscités par les
consommateurs outre-Atlantique.

The leap of bass and sea bream
production aimed at by the Greek
aquaculture industry is really
Olympian: from 110,000 tons in
2017, estimates bet on more than
220,000 tons by 2030, of which
more than 85% for export. Such a
development implies strengthening
the sector which operates on some
330 sites at sea. The most awaited
event is the merger of Nireus and
Selonda as these two companies
will create a new entity able to rank
among the largest Mediterranean
fish farmers.
Greek fish farmers are also involved
in the structure of the Hellenic
Aquaculture Producers Organization
(Hapo). Created in 2016, the
consortium brings together about
twenty bass and sea bream farmers
with a production amounting to
68,000 tons. The objectives of the
Hapo are numerous. In addition
to defending the interests of
its members, the organization
defines avenues for development,
cooperation, training, not forgetting
the drafting of a code for good
practices.
The launch of the collective brand
Fish from Greece at the Seafood
Expo Global in Brussels attests to the
wish to promote Greek aquaculture
at home and abroad. The marketing
investment includes a vast
communication plan for the media,
participation in conferences and fairs
as well as a heightened visibility on
social networks.
