"I wanted the opportunity to come
into an organization with a chance
for professional growth, so I started
with Federal-Mogul Motorparts right
out of school," said Impact Award
winner Chris Battershell. "Since then,
I've come to really enjoy our industry
and the people who work in it."
Fifteen years after graduating
from Michigan State University with
a degree in marketing, the team
Battershell now manages has product
management responsibility for all the
aftermarket brake products supplied
by Federal-Mogul Motorparts. The
team's responsibilities include coverage
and new part introduction, pricing, life
cycle management, forecasting, market
analysis and benchmarking, and they
work closely with the commercial team
and especially customers to make sure
they're delivering product solutions.
Battershell feels that the
industry is benefiting from younger
perspectives like his, and FederalMogul Motorparts truly supports
him and other future leaders.
"Not only are we investing for
the future in terms of technology
and operations, but also in terms
of talent," said Battershell. "This
industry has a lot of opportunities for
young people. Proper succession
planning and training are vital."

Battershell believes that all of
the industry's people are its best
asset, and being involved in the
Auto Care Association provides
great opportunities to connect.
"I learned early on that it was
important to get different perspectives,
to work and learn from different people
with diverse backgrounds, and truly
understand all the different aspects of
the business," he said. "There are many
truly amazing stories about how the
aftermarket came to be as it is today.
All the companies and products were
established by some innovative and
driven people. I look forward to working
with them moving forward, creating
more stories for the next generation."
About his Impact Award, Battershell
said, "I really see it as an award for
the entire team that I get the pleasure
of working with every day. This
achievement is really a reflection of
an entire team effort, so I'd like to
thank them for all that they do!"
When he's not working, Battershell
supports his home team too, which
includes his wife Devon and three
boys under the age of 10, all of
whom are involved in sports. On
behalf of the industry, the Auto Care
Association would like to thank
Battershell for being an MVP on
the aftermarket's team too.
