THANK you for the opportunity to
serve our industry and the Auto Care
Association. I really appreciate your
trust and am truly honored to serve
as chairman of our association.
We have a great team, comprised
of our dedicated staff and countless
volunteers. Our staff is 100 percent
focused on representing our industry's
needs, helping us grow our collective
businesses and protecting our future.
They have really stepped up their
game and are firing on all cylinders.
We are also extremely fortunate
to have so many active volunteers
who give so much of their time
working on our industry's behalf. In
particular I would like to recognize and
acknowledge the efforts of our recent
leaders, Michael Klein, Rick Jago
and the late Tim Lee. Each brought
their unique skills and passion to
help move our association forward.
As we look to the future, I am very

stronger when we work together! That
is the true value of our association.

optimistic as to our opportunities for
our collective continued growth and
success. Our vision: "Independence
drives us," is supported by our mission
statement, "To protect and advance the
interests of the businesses providing
aftermarket products and services
for all classes of motor vehicles."
These statements provide the overall
guiding direction for our association.
Our strategic plan includes five key
pillars: emerging technologies; global
opportunities; supply chain efficiency;
membership growth and retention; and
political profile and influence. These are
the right priorities for our association.
I am very encouraged by our strong
progress on these critical efforts.
The strength of our association
not only comes from our staff and
volunteers; it also comes from
our unique structure and member
composition. We represent the
entire aftermarket, from suppliers

to distributors to retailers to repair
shops. As an industry, we are stronger
when we work together! That is the
true value of our association.
We certainly have some challenges
in front of us, especially the threat
and opportunity that telematics
provides. I am convinced that by
working together and by focusing on
our ultimate "customer," the motoring
public, that we will be successful in
protecting car owner's right to access
and control their vehicle's data.
Again, I appreciate the opportunity
to serve as a volunteer for the Auto Care
Association. If you are currently not
serving as a volunteer, please consider
joining a community, committee or one
of our many work groups. Remember,
we are stronger when we work together.
I look forward to meeting and
working with you to make our
industry even better for all of us.
