Life presents you with challenges and opportunities - it's important to live passionately and know your core values so that you enjoy the journey in both the challenging and rewarding times! 12 AUTO CARE INSIDER | VOL. 92 Her recent outstanding contributions to the auto care industry, while demonstrating role model behaviors, leadership and commitment to the advancement of women, earned Kathleen Jorge, the 2014 Car Care Council Women's Board (WB) "Auto Care Woman of Excellence" award. The award was presented at AAPEX 2014 in Las Vegas, Nev. Before joining Delphi, Jorge graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor's in Accounting. "I gained experiences within Delphi in a multitude of roles in finance, business planning, product line management and sales," said Jorge. "I cut my teeth in the auto care industry in a sales role supporting co-man sales. My sales leadership role grew from there." As vice president sales, North American aftermarket, Jorge is responsible for generating value for Delphi's customers and growing revenue for its shareholders. She manages a direct sales team of nearly 20 people. Delphi Product & Service Solutions has been a member of the Auto Care Association since 1999. "The Auto Care Association provides a tremendous opportunity for personal and professional development with peers and members in the auto care industry," said Jorge. "In order to be an effective business leader it is important to step out of your dayto-day perspective, and understand the vantage of others in the same industry - whether customers, technicians, business owners or other manufacturers. Access to this collective knowledge has been both personally and professionally rewarding." Jorge herself is an associate of the Car Care Council Women's Board, frequently attending its biannual leadership conferences and annual events. She participates in its Career and Leadership committee and has recently taken an active role in its new mentorship program. "The program has grown tremendously in the past year, providing for very open communication and dialogue outside of Women's Board events for its associates."
