PURCHASING TRENDS
ACCORDING to the 2015 Digital Tool and Equipment
Purchasing Trends report, the majority of tool and equipment
purchasing decision-makers used the Internet more for
researching information and less for purchasing tool and
equipment. The report further states that the decisionmakers routinely sought product technical specifications,
warranty and price information on automotive-related
websites, but ultimately purchased their tools from mobile
vendors and full-line parts jobbers. This was because of
uncertainties and concerns about Internet suppliers' return
policies, warranty, fast delivery, etc. Regardless of where
the tools were purchased, according to the report, warranty,
fast delivery and a strong brand name formed the top three
influential factors driving the buying decision process.

report is a nationwide survey that gains insight into current
and future purchasing decisions of professionals who
utilize shop tools and equipment for automotive repair.
