AHEPA Family Elections
The organizations that comprise the AHEPA family also
held elections. Jan Spanos, Sacramento, Calif., was elected
Daughters of Penelope Grand President; Nikolas Apostolou,
Wyckoff, N.J., was elected Sons of Pericles Supreme President;
and Tria Charnas, North Royalton, Ohio, was elected Maids of
Athena Grand President.

AHEPA Athletics Inducts Five into Hall of Fame
Five standouts in athletic competition were inducted into
the AHEPA Hellenic Athletic Hall of Fame. The Class of 2016
included: Nicolette ("Nikki") Gianulias, professional bowler;
Niko Koutouvides, college and professional football player;
John Margaritis, head women's basketball coach, UC Riverside;
Steven Schubert, college and professional football player; and
Christos ("Chris") Tsiotos, college basketball player.
In addition, the recipients of the Harry Agganis Award and
William Chirgotis Award were announced along with the nine
recipients of AHEPA's scholar-athlete awards and Daughters of
Penelope athletic honorees. (See Athletics Section, Page 28.)
HCC Sponsors Presentation
As always, the AHEPA Hellenic Cultural Commission sponsors
an event to enlighten the convention delegates. The year, the
Commission featured Author Gus Constantine, who discussed
his book, "Escaping Cyprus" with the AHEPA family. The experiences from which he drew upon to write the book stirred the
audience.
