AHEPA FAMILY CHAPTER NEWS

District 6
Constantine Cassis Chapter 170, Hempstead, N.Y.
The chapter hosted its annual Easter Glendi at the Cathedral of St. Paul, May 14, 2016, where
three students received scholarship awards of $1,000 each and certificates of achievement.
District 6 Lt. Governor Ted Stamas and Director of Education Demi Pamboukes presented the
scholarships to: Dessie Ann DiMino (Constantine Cassis); Dena Elaina Pallogudis (DOP Pasithea
Chapter); and Nicoletta Philippides (Cathedral of St. Paul). Ms. Elaine Kassamatis, who is a
longtime sponsor of the scholarship program and daughter of the late Brother Constantine
Cassis, matched the scholarship awards. The recipients, whose parents and grandparents
were recognized before an audience of 100 persons, read their essays on Hellenism and spoke
about their future goals and ambitions.

Trojan Chapter 306, Troy, N.Y.
The chapter initiated nine men into the Order and District 6 recognized the
chapter as the "most improved" in the district with a plaque presented at
the District 6 Convention. Officiating were: President Steve Bobarakis, Vice
President Tom Suraci, Treasurer Mike Krumpholz, and Brothers Don Dybas,
Paul Huban, Carl Alesio, Chuck Fentekes and Brother John Oureilidis who
proudly participated in the initiation of his son, Tasos. District 6 Secretary
Chris Pappis and District 6 Warden Stefan Kalogridis also assisted.

James Plevritis-Joseph C. Keane Chapter 405
New Rochelle, N.Y.
The chapter is proud its youth was represented prominently at the Las Vegas
Supreme Convention and have chosen to follow in the footsteps of their elders.

delegate, Eleni Kohilakis, the recipient of the PSP Franklin R. Manios ScholarAthlete and Service Award, and Zachary Papademetriou. All three are members of
the New Rochelle AHEPA Family.

Whitestone, N.Y.
Chapter President Ted Stamis and Brothers Andonis Samartzis and Sam
Karalis, representing the chapter's scholarship committee, presented Luke
Thermos with its scholarship award at its annual dinner-dance, at Holy Cross
Greek Orthodox Church, May 7, 2016. Then Supreme Vice President Andrew
Zachariades and several District 6 officers were present.
