AHEPA FAMILY CHAPTER NEWS
AHEPA Chapter 528, Palm Desert, Calif.
The chapter presented four Father Theophilos
Theophilos Scholarship Awards to Christian
Kontaxis, Katrina Storton, Cani Karalis and
Stephanie Christopoulos. Since its inception in
2007, more than $30,000 in scholarships have
been presented. Also, the chapter honored Father
Theodore Pantels, a 22-year Ahepan, for his spiritual leadership and support for the Order.
District 25
Pericles Chapter HJ-10, Athens, Greece
The brothers visited the Kivotos Agapis (Ark of Love) Foundation in Patras, Greece,
to present philanthropic aid for many aliments, including hygiene products, toys
and clothes, that totaled more than 600 kg. Chapter President Vardis GyoniotakisKorderas, Chapter Secretary Fotis Sarantopoulos, and Brothers Dionysios Vossos
and Dimitris Moutafidis of the chapter's Philanthropy Committee made the presentation. Kivotos Agapis provides 24/7 services free of charge to 79 mentally
challenged, developmentally disabled, and handicaped persons, ranging in age
from one year to 50 years old. The foundation has 64 employees and full-time
volunteers.

AHEPA mourns the passing of Past Supreme Governor, and former national Ahepan of the
Year, Dr. Pete N. Nikolas, DDS, who died September 7, 2017. He was 67.
"Brother Nikolas was a very dedicated Ahepan, and committed to the ideals of the Order,"
Supreme President Carl Hollister said. "Brother Nikolas celebrated his Hellenic heritage whenever he could. He absolutely will be missed by us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with his
family. May his memory be eternal."
Brother Nikolas was a 33-year member of AHEPA Worthington Chapter 30, Baltimore,
Md. In addition to serving as Supreme Governor, Brother Nikolas served as Capital District 3
Governor and several chapter and district offices.
