AHEPA FAMILY CHAPTER NEWS
District 1
Mother Lodge Chapter 1, Atlanta, Ga.
The brothers donned their aprons and rolled-up their sleeves to cook and serve a group of 650
young people attending the annual Winter Youth Rally in Atlanta. The event, featuring a basketball tournament, Bible Bowl and other youth-oriented activities, is organized by the Atlanta
Greek Orthodox Metropolis. Students and advisors from all over the southeast were grateful to the
AHEPA chapter for feeding the hungry group six meals over the course of three days. In addition,
the Sons of Pericles Adelphi Chapter in Atlanta turned out to help, making this a true AHEPA family event. Also, for the holidays, the chapter helped Junior ROTC cadets in their efforts to collect
money for the Empty Stocking Fund.
Plato Chapter 4, Charleston, S.C.
The chapter held its 2018 Oyster Roast. Among the attendees were: Supreme Governor
Peter J. Nassos, District 1 Lt. Governor Harry Kipreos, Chapter President Doug Wells and
Chapter Treasurer Telis Zecopoulos.
AHEPA Chapter 519, Marietta, Ga.
The chapter hosted the Three Hierarchs Luncheon, Jan. 28, 2018. Consul of Greece
in Atlanta Emmanouil Androulakis served as Keynote Speaker. Proceeds from the
luncheon help to provide scholarships to the Hellenic Studies Program at Holy
Transfiguration.

AHEPA District 2, Florida
More than 85 persons attended Greek
Heritage Night at the Tampa Bay
Lightning vs. Calgary Flames hockey
game, Jan. 9, 2018. Attendees who
stayed after the game were able to take
a photo on the Lightning's bench. A
great night of fellowship was had by all.
There are plans to hold a similar Greek
Heritage night in south Florida at a
Florida Panthers game.
