AHEPA FAMILY CHAPTER NEWS
District 6
Delphi Chapter 25, Manhattan, N.Y.
The chapter initiated 26 men into the Order at a ceremony held at Gallagher's
Steakhouse Jan. 22, 2018. In addition, the chapter held a Vasilopita-cutting that
evening dedicated to the memory of Past Supreme Secretary James A. Poll (19202013), who also served as a chairman of AHEPA's Saint Basil Academy program.
Brother Dean Poll, owner of Gallagher's Steakhouse and son of Brother Poll,
graciously hosted the event. More than 150 brothers attended, including: Past
Supreme President Andrew C. Zachariades, Supreme Secretary Jimmy Kokotas,
Supreme Governor Tom Dushas and District 6 Governor Ted Stamas.
John Valedes-Westchester Chapter 51, Yonkers, N.Y.
The chapter held a testimonial dinner in honor of 2007 National Ahepan of the Year and
two-term Past Supreme Governor and current National Board of Trustees Member Elias
Tsekerides, Nov. 26, 2017. The brothers presented him with a proclamation detailing his
years of service to the community, which also include serving as President of the PanPontian Federation of the United States and Canada and President of the Federation of
Hellenic Societies of Greater New York. Brother Tsekerides (center) is pictured with (l-r):

AHEPA Chapter 125, Schenectady, N.Y.
In November, the chapter organized a dinner-dance for the community, raising funds for
youth programs in the Saint George community and the greater Schenectady community.
AHEPA Chapter 140, Albany, N.Y.
The Albany AHEPA Family donated gifts for the children and young
adults being treated at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital
at Albany Medical Center. Special thanks and recognition are conveyed
to the Arthur Kontogiannis family for its continuous support and dedication to the Children's Hospital, and to the following individuals from
Albany Medical Center for their leadership and support of the Children's
Hospital: Robert Saba, director of Development, Grateful Patients and
Families; and Maureen Sharkey, Child Life specialist.
