AHEPA FAMILY CHAPTER NEWS
Harris J. Booras Chapter 406, Watertown, Mass.
In December, the chapter initiated four men into the Order. Past Supreme
Governor and former National Board of Trustees Member Constantine
Calliontzis, and District 8 Secretary Peter J. Vergados, assisted with the

District 10
AHEPA Chapter 141 and DOP Chapter 242, Flint, Mich.
The community organized a pot luck dinner to revitalize Chapter 141.
Approximately 40 persons attended the event held at Assumption Greek
Orthodox Church, Grand Blanc, Mich., Jan. 13, 2018. The chapter initiated
or reinstated ten total men and held its first meeting of the administrative
year. Supreme Governor Craig Theros attended. The chapter thanks DOP
Chapter 242 President Cathy Yeotis, and the rest of the Daughters membership, for organizing the event.
District 11
AHEPA Chapter 59, Canton, Ohio
Brother Joey Tortora was one of the top 30 men and women in the world invited to compete at the Dubai Fitness Championship after a three-week qualification process. The
competition was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Dec. 13 to 16, 2017. The competitors were tested over the course of four days with 15 events that include a mixture of
running, weight lifting, swimming, and gymnastics with the competitors not knowing
the full details until arrival.
District 12
AHEPA Chapter 78, Gary/Merrillville, Ind.
The chapter's "Santa's Helpers" distributed gifts at the Salvation Army in Gary, Ind., for the Angel
Tree Program. For nine years the chapter has supported the Angel Tree Program, donating more than
$18,000 for Christmas gifts for approximately 450 children. The chapter also hosted a Christmas Party
for residents of its affordable housing for low-income and disabled elderly property.
