AHEPA FAMILY CHAPTER NEWS

District 10

Automotive District 10, Michigan
In the effort to outreach to a younger generation
of potential members, the District Lodge, hosted
an event at C.J. Barrymores, Clinton Township,
Dec. 20, 2014. Nine young adults (ages 16 to 23)
attended to learn more about AHEPA, eat, and
play games. Lieutenant Governor/SOP Adviser Dr.
Evans Farres organized the social. District 10 will
also sponsor a boat cruise on the Detroit River, June
20, 2015, with the same aim of attracting younger
members. Brother Dr. Farres and District Marshall
George Zaharopoulos will spearhead the event.

AHEPA Chapter 195
Ann Arbor, Mich.
The chapter held its annual Christmas Party at
the Quarter Bistro, Ann Arbor, with DOP Knossos
Chapter 174, Dec. 17, 2014. The "Chapter 195
Award of Excellence" was presented to Brothers
George Bokas, Dr. Anthony Kales, Dr. Costas
Kleanthous, George Petropoulos, and Nicholas
Stamos. The chapter's "Award of Appreciation"
was presented to Brother Fr. Nicolaos Kotsis. The
chapter is hosting the 2015 District 10 Convention,
May 16, Weber's Inn, Ann Arbor. The annual
Educational Scholarship Golf Outing, benefitting
high school seniors, is planned for May 15 at the
nationally recognized Eagle Crest Golf Course. Visit

District 11
Buckeye District 11
The district held a mass
initiation on Dec. 11, 2014.
Buckeye District Governor
George Kalantzis administered the oath in a joint
initiation of 18 new members to the Order: 12 from
Chapter 59, Canton, Ohio;
two from Goodfriendship Chapter 63, Akron, Ohio; and four from
Chapter 88, Warren, Ohio. Chapter 59 hosted a post-initiation dinner reception for the new members and 50 Ahepans.

Chapter 36, Cleveland, Ohio
At the invitation of Brother Angelo Coutris, the chapter hosted
Supreme President for an initiation of 18 men into the Order,
Dec. 18, 2014. The chapter also hosted a dinner at which 70 area
Ahepans attended. National Board of Trustees Member George
Loucas, District 11 Gov. George Kalantzis, and Chapter 36 President
Steve Paffilas assisted with the ceremony. Also, applications were
received from an additional seven individuals to join the Order.

Hancock Chapter 103, Weirton, W.V.
The chapter mourns the passing of Brother John G. Pandelios,
a Life Member of 75 years, who died Dec. 3, 2014. He was 98.
A World War II veteran, Brother John served in the U.S. Navy
and Naval Reserve for over 22 years. Trained as an Industrial
Engineer, John retired from National Steel in Weirton with 31½
years of service. John was also a life-long member of All Saints
Greek Orthodox Church where he served in various administrative capacities for over 60 years, including being chairman of the
Building Fund Committee. His service to the community will be
missed. May his memory be eternal.
