Coordination between concrete rebar/post tensioning and the curtainwall embeds was difficult, especially considering the curved section at the southeast corner of the building and the garage vehicle guard rail embeds at the perimeter. Tight logistics on the floors due to the concrete shear walls had to be worked around, specifically for moving and placing the large curtainwall units. Time differences, complicated structur- al design and terminology differences between consulting structural engineer Werner Sobek in Stuttgart and constructors in Chicago added a complication that was overcome early on.
