NEWS & NOTES >> ACCG-IRMA Declares $2 Million Dividend The ACCG-Interlocal Risk Management Agency (ACCG-IRMA) Board of Trustees voted to return a dividend in the amount of $2 million to its membership. ACCG-IRMA is a non-profit, member-owned property and liability insurance pool designed to meet the insurance needs of Georgia county governments. This marks the eleventh consecutive year that ACCGIRMA has returned a dividend, which is intended to benefit the long-term participants of the insurance program. It will be returned in the form of a premium credit to members that have participated in the program since the Oct. 1, 2003 – 2004 policy period. According to McDuffie County Chairman Charlie Newton, chairman of the ACCG-IRMA Board of Trustees, the $2 million dividend equals the largest in the program’s 24-year history. ACCG-IRMA was established in 1987 and currently has 158 members, comprised of Georgia counties and authorities. ACCG-IRMA’s assets are currently $104.6 million. Total dividends returned to the membership since 1997 amount to $17.6 million. Updated Publications Now Available for Purchase and Download from ACCG Publication Store Six of the most popular ACCG guidebooks have been revised and updated and are now available for purchase and download through the ACCG website. Purchases can be made separately or at a discounted rate if purchased as a set. These guidebooks include: Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax: A Guide for County Officials; Model Emergency Management Ordinances and Agreements; Georgia’s Open Meetings and Open Records Law: A Guide for County Officials; Meetings Organization and Public Access for Counties; Parliamentary Procedures for Counties; and Constitutional County Officers: Budgeting, Contracting and Other Issues. A reprinted copy of Charting a Course for Cooperation and Collaboration will be included in each set and available to download as well. Each county will be provided with one complimentary set. This new line of coverage for all of its members upon the news of it returning a $2 million dividend. Effective July 1, 2013, it will include coverage of $1 million for liability arising out of the actual or reasonable suspected release of private or confidential data or a violation or failure of the security of the member’s computer system. Some coverage is included for regulatory penalties, event management, notification of effected parties and remediation.
