"It takes dedication, perseverance, and timely
education to manage the challenges of our profession
and to grow our competencies for the future."
ur profession is in the midst of extreme change and
challenge. Never have the demands of ensuring
that "all health care environments contribute to
quality outcomes and healthy communities" been
greater, and yet, that is our mission. As professionals responsible for health care environments, this
passion for quality drives us. It is fueled by the knowledge our work,
by both leaders and our front-line staff, has the power to save lives.
In this issue of EXPLORE, we've packed it with not only the useful and expertly written articles that you've come to expect, but
we've also packed it with many articles written for EXCHANGE
attendees, so if you're going to be in Grapevine, be sure to read
this issue from cover to cover in advance of touch-down in Texas.
This year's events will be truly ground-breaking and will offer
the first opportunities to cultivate the next generations of professional excellence. Check out pages 8-9 for a complete brief
overview of EXCHANGE 2015, including information on CPEs, the
CHEST program, and learning opportunities.
As you review the list of sessions, I am certain you will find
many of interest and that AHE's pillars of prevention, education,
standards, and management are in the forefront. Each of the
sessions is designed to include valuable ideas, strategies, and
tactics that keep you abreast of changes, and also provide a look
to the future. This issue, we've included 'Maximize Your Time in
Grapevine: 10 Tips to Amplify Learning Potential at EXCHANGE
2015,' an article written for AHE members on how to get the most
out of this year's event-be sure to read pages 11-12 so you can
make this year unforgettable.
The Healthcare Marketplace will be a wonderful display of
the latest technologies, toolkits, and the opportunity to meet
the professionals behind the science. It will be a great chance to
identify options and solutions for all your workplace challenges.
It takes dedication, perseverance, and timely education to
manage the challenges of our profession and to grow our competencies for the future. It is our pledge that EXCHANGE 2015 will
present updates on the latest developments in environmental
services and will provide a look at what is on the horizon of our
profession-all provided within a great educational environment,
and with the opportunity to spend time networking with many
of the best in our industry.
This year, we're all headed to Grapevine! There's much to do
in the surrounding community, and we hope you take full advantage of both the conference and the wonderful location. Every
year, I am excited for the networking opportunities EXCHANGE
provides. I never fail to meet a new colleague who teaches me
something new. I look forward to meeting you there, and growing
our knowledge and enhancing our profession together.
