Issues and Trends
AAMGA's Newest Initiative

ANY INSURANCE COMPANIES, including ours, track and
develop strategies to leverage the
opportunities emerging issues
and trends present, or mitigate
the threat they pose, with a focus
on the implications to our organization, our customers
and the wholesalers with whom they work. However, the
AAMGA has embarked on an important new initiative,
investing in a group of member and industry volunteers
from around the world to focus solely on the impact of
emerging issues and trends on the wholesale distribution channel.
The outputs of this group will provide valuable
resources to agency leaders, and the wholesale insurance industry generally, to be aware of the "red flags"
that could be disruptive to the wholesale distribution
model as well as the "yellow flags"-and the flags that
may not even exist yet.
The key deliverables of this committee are:
* Trend identification
* Trend prioritization
* Implications identification
* Scenario planning
* Surveillance planning
* Recommendations for action
The committee will also leverage AAMGA's relationships with several universities who will have students
majoring in risk management and insurance assist
with research. Deliverables of the EIT Committee will be
posted on the AAMGA website as an additional resource
for the membership. We will further engage AAMGA's
membership by including them in various stages of the
process using surveys, educational classes at the AAMGA
University educational events, newsletters, webinars and
presentations as developments materialize.
We are looking forward to getting the process
started, and confident that we have the right team to
do the job.
