AssociAtion informAtion MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Dear Colleague: I am pleased to present the 2015 NYSAC County Directory. This directory includes contact information for the thousands of elected and appointed county officials across New York State. The New York State Association of Counties (NYSAC) represents all of our member counties. This directory is the only comprehensive listing of New York's current county officials. These leaders work tirelessly on behalf of their constituents, our counties, and our association. This year marks NYSAC's 90th anniversary. Our state and our counties have evolved over those 90 years, but local leaders' have remained committed to making New York a better place to live, work, and raise a family. As the voice of our counties, NYSAC works to educate the public and our state representatives about the importance of county government, the government closest to the people. Your association plays a vital role in public policy discussions in New York, and I urge you to join in the conversation. NYSAC serves its members through comprehensive research on issues that impact counties, legal briefs, advocacy, training, and education programs as well as offering partnership programs and services designed to save counties money. There are a number of ways for you to get involved with all that NYSAC offers: attend the 2015 Fall Seminar in Essex County, participate in a standing committee, call our offices to let us know what's happening in your county, share your expertise, and take part in the collective county voice that advocates on behalf of the millions of New Yorkers we serve. Sincerely, Anthony Picente NYSAC President Oneida County Executive MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Dear Member, The New York State Association of Counties (NYSAC) is proud to present the 2015 County Directory, a comprehensive listing of the officials currently serving New York's counties. This year, we celebrate NYSAC's 90th anniversary. This organization was created in 1925 as an extension of our counties for the purposes of training, educating and representing county elected and appointed officials from across New York State. Ninety years later, and our purpose remains the same. We take seriously our mission to represent, educate, advocate for, and serve New York's thousands of elected and appointed county officials. In addition to this annual directory, NYSAC hosts three major conferences each year, publishes a seasonal magazine, sends daily county news clips and weekly reports from Albany, researches a series of policy briefs, and conducts surveys to gauge county concerns on an array of issues. The NYSAC County Directory is the only annual directory and most comprehensive publication of elected and appointed county employees from each county. I am certain you will find it to be an invaluable resource. Sincerely, Stephen J. Acquario NYSAC Executive Director 2015 Directory 7
