increase the value of their skillset, compared to what it would be if they worked only their
regular job.
Note that Table 2, (p. 31), is the only time salaries are broken out this way. For the rest of
this report, all full-time employees are viewed together-regardless of whether they also
work as self-employed consultants. The same is true of part-time employees.
Figure 1 shows the average salaries by job title for U.S. respondents. The job titles are
sorted by average salary-the highest-paid employees appear at the top of the chart. The
highest-paid respondents in the United States are those whose job title is (or is similar to)
vice president/executive, with an average salary of $170,131. Those with a title of technician
bring up the rear, with average earnings this year of $48,693. Figure 2 shows the same
information for Canadian respondents.
