vice versa. “It’s hard to be
creative when running a
business,” you might say.
Even for the “non-creative” person, today’s
technology-driven world makes it more
possible than ever before to creatively
build and market your business.
Technology is also connecting different generations and organizational groups
through smartphones and tablets—tools
often referred to as mobile media. Whether
it’s Facebook, Twitter, YouTube or
texting, mobile media is making it easier
for individuals to integrate daily tasks—
like scheduling a salon appointment—into
their busy lifestyle.
In order to grow your school’s business, it is important to know where your
prospects and clients spend their time.
I’ll give you a big hint…it’s often a moving target.
Your customers are mobile—is
Don’t go thinking that this “mobile thing”
is not for you. Every business needs to
understand that in order to connect and
engage with customers, mobility must be
part of the strategy.
Here’s why you need to be mobilefriendly:
• Almost 70 percent of Facebook and
Twitter usage is happening from a
• More than 41 percent of all emails are
opened from a mobile phone.
• More people will access the Internet
from their mobile device than from
their PC by 2015.
• 50 percent of all local searches are performed from a mobile phone.
• 67 percent of mobile searchers take
action within one hour. That means a
phone call, a visit or a purchase.
• Google will be demoting websites that
are either not mobile-friendly or set up
incorrectly for mobile devices.
If you create a marketing plan with
these numbers in mind, you’ll be in a
better position to grow your business.
That means more customers receiving
value from your amazing school and
salon. Mobile marketing is one of the
