2016 CEA & AMP
his is one time "what happens in
Vegas, stays in Vegas" does not
apply since we are so excited to
share all the highlights from the
2016 CEA & AMP Convention,
July 30-Aug. 2, 2016 at Planet
Hollywood. More than 400 educators, admissions and marketing professionals registered
for the conference, where we offered an abundance of special workshops, breakout sessions,
demos, keynote speakers and fun networking
events. The Expo Hall was in full swing as nearly
30 companies exhibited with 170 representatives
present. And we added some fun this year with
an interactive game featuring a Map of the Stars.
Attendees had to get as many "star encounters"
(stamp from an exhibitor) they could to enter
a drawing to win two tickets to a Vegas show.
We opened the convention with an exciting
Red Carpet Regi-ception, sponsored by Sport
Clips. With music, the dance floor was hopping, attendees followed the theme and donned
red shoes, jewelry, ties and even head-to-toe
The next morning, Ida McLean, Director of Education for Searcy Beauty College,
in Searcy, Arkansas was announced the 2016 winner of the prestigious N.F. Cimaglia
Educator of the Year Award. She's been in the industry more than 20 years, and continues
to bring passion and excitement to the classroom. "I wake up each and every morning
knowing I could not have chosen a more rewarding, fulfilling career," she said. "I love
what I do and I feel honored to be part of each student's life and play a significant role
in their educational experience."
We also showcased this year's Star Educators at the event: Jennifer Collins, April
Lemonie and Kim Ockert. All three educators took the stage to deliver the presentation
they submitted to win the contest.
