"Salons and service providers who have

already seeing great interaction with customers, which stimulates buzz about your
brand," says Jon-David.
He recommends using Snapchat as a
place to tout quick discounts, coupons
and specials. If people don't follow you on
Snapchat, in other words, they can miss
out on quick time-sensitive deals.
Livestream video is H-O-T right now. "I
encourage salons and stylists to find ways
to engage their audience, and grow it, by
utilizing livestream video," says Jon-David.
One of the easiest platforms to use is
Facebook Live, which enables you to post
live video to your Facebook feed so that
you can engage with viewers in real time.
Jon-David recommends using it to give
people an in-the-moment glimpse of you at
your business' best. Ideas include providing a behind-the-scenes peek at something
amazing about your salon and its stylists;
presenting live "how-to" tutorials; showing
off new products and services; and spotlighting special events, especially if you're
making any red-carpet cameos.
With the expanding landscape of social
media platforms, there is ample opportunity to try new and innovative things to
make a name for yourself - so this is by
no means an exhaustive list. Creativity is
key, and part of building that foundation is
