WHO IS ON YOUR

ood is a powerful impetus to team
evolution: feed them and they shall
come. Let's consider a career that
uses food as a team builder. Fire fighters are known for their communal meals
at the fire house. Interestingly enough,
this common daily occurrence, mealtime,
brings these men and women together
through the daily experience of eating to
bond them by breaking bread together.
You might ask, what does this have to do
with the meal experience of health care
where we routinely depend on a team
approach, nursing and food services, to
deliver a quality meal experience for the
person(s) receiving the meal. It demonstrates that communal experience over an
action can actually build team.
So ask yourself, has your organization
made an effort to build your Food Team?
Or are you focused on production and
