Despite looking out the window at 20cm of freshly fallen snow,
I write my spring provincial report with happy anticipation!
Anticipation of warmer days, melting snow and being one step
closer to a beautiful Saskatchewan summer!
SSNM is currently putting the finishing touches on our redeStacey, Ginter, NM
signed website. The website is filled with lots of history, inforCSNM/SK Provincial
mation, education and SSNM activities. It has a gallery filled
with pictures and it is a great tool for our members or potential
members. Our social media chairperson Leanne Kolbe did an
amazing job with the redesign and we look forward to have it up and running very soon.
Another event that we are looking forward to is our Spring Conference and Education
Day which is going to be held on Friday May 11th, 2018 at Wanuskewin Heritage Park in
Saskatoon. Conference chair Natasha Brandt has worked hard to plan a day of learning, fun
and networking. Our keynote speakers are Michelle Cederberg and Clinton Monchuk from
Farm Food Care. With attendance at the full day conference attendees will be awarded 6
CE points! This is very impressive for a one-day event. Great job, Natasha! The SSNM AGM
will be held at this conference and all but one of our board positions will be up for election.
We are working hard in the months leading up to elections to ensure there is succession
planning in place for our board.
At the event we will award the France Gates Scholarships, which include two $500
scholarships one to a first year student and one to a second year student. The student
can be enrolled in either the program offered through Sask. Polytechnic or a recognized
