The huge challenge OSNM faces is
that the Ministry of Health and Long
Term Care looks at numbers - membership numbers. Therefore, OSNM MUST
increase membership in order for our
professional voice to be heard! The
benefit of membership is that YOUR
voice, added to OUR membership will
increase OUR volume so that MOHLTC
can't ignore us.
LIASON - OSNM liaises with Ontario
Association of Non-Profit Homes &
Services for Seniors (OANHSS), Ontario
Long Term Care Association (OLTCA),
Ontario Retirement Communities
Association (ORCA), Ontario Home
Economists Association (OHEA), the
Senior's Health Research Transfer
Network (SHRTN) and Ministry of
Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC)
on behalf of the membership.
The benefit to YOU, is that YOU can
initiate change!
RESOURCES - access to resources
specific to Ontario. OSNM has built
and continues to expand a library
of resources on OUR website (Food
Service Awareness, Policy/Procedure,
Education Day, PowerPoints, etc.) all
of which are available for your use.
Sharing your tools will further build
this library. The benefit to YOU is that
it saves time in development of educational in-house services along with
policy development and audit tools.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT -
OSNM partners with suppliers, corporations and associations to provide
Education Days, Symposiums and
Conferences that provide CSNM
Continuing Education (CE) approved
programming. Chapter meetings and
education days provide even more
opportunity to network and share
issues specific to these regions. The
benefit to YOU is that you have ample
opportunity to fulfill your CSNM CE
points, as well as to remain current
about OUR profession.
COST SAVINGS - OSNM has negotiated
many cost saving opportunities for its
members. Home and Auto Insurance,
Cell phone packages, GoodLife Fitness

Membership discounts etc. The benefit to YOU is that you save money
(Many members have saved more
than the membership fee just by
taking advantage of the insurance
discounts alone.)
We hope this will better determine your
decision to maintain your membership
with not only CSNM but also the OSNM.

Please feel free to contact us if you
have any questions.
Thank you and have a wonderful fall
season ahead.
Best Regards,
