am truly honored to take over the reins as new FPMA Chairman. This is my
first letter to our members and partners, and let me start by saying how
much I appreciate the congratulations and support I've received over the
past few weeks. This is an exciting time to be a member of FPMA and I think
2017 will be a great year for our organization.
We just finished another stellar Retail Days at the Capitol and I appreciate
everyone who joined us. We heard an informative rundown of those legislative issues that we'll be advocating for this year, in particular the Ethanol
corrosion issue which impacts many of us. We also got to meet and network
with the biggest political leaders like Speaker of the House Richard Corcoran
and Senate President Joe Negron among others. And our newly rebranded
Florida's Emerging Retail Leaders group hosted their popular annual Skeet
Shoot event which raised money for the PetroPAC. The week was capped
off with my first advisory board meeting as Chair where we laid out the
direction our organization will take this year, and I also heard firsthand your
concerns and opinions on those issues impacting our industry. As your
Chair, I will work closely with FPMA Executive Director Ned Bowman and
FRF President/CEO Randy Miller and the whole FPMA & FRF staff to ensure
that we identify solutions to those issues and ensure our industry and your
businesses continue to grow.
Thank you for the faith you've put in me as your Chairman, and I look
forward to a fun and successful 2017! ●
