Petrogram - Summer 2013 - (Page 5)
Exciting Changes are Here!
his edition should arrive just in time for me to welcome you to the
start of our 2013 Florida Petroleum Marketers and Convenience
Store Association’s annual Convention and Sunshine Food &
Fuel Expo. We are back at the beautiful Orlando World Center Marriott
and there are many exciting changes to the format this year. We are
also pleased to be partnering with the Asian American Store Owners
Association (AASOA) for the first time this year. This should prove to
be a great partnership and bring a new dynamic to the Expo we have
not had in previous years.
We are still sorting out all of the details and implications of the changes
coming to our Inland Protection Trust Fund cleanup program. It is as
important as ever for the Marketers and our Environmental Contractor
members to work together to protect our rights under this program. We
have spent millions of dollars over the years to comply with our requirements as a part of the program and we cannot let the rules be changed
in a way to deny our rights to have the properties cleaned up and protect
our natural resources. Our properties, our financing, our livelihoods and
the state’s natural resources are at risk.
Overseeing the Convention and Expo is my last official act as Chairman
of our Association. As my term comes to an end I would like to take this
opportunity to express my sincere appreciation and respect for all of the support and
assistance I have received this year. I know
how difficult it can sometimes be to make
time in our busy schedules, but our board
and committee members have done so over
and over when called upon. Our staff has
also done a tremendous job providing the
support to keep everything running smoothly
and efficiently. Thank you from the bottom of
my heart to all.
I want to welcome Summit Shah as the
next Chairman of the Board of the Florida Petroleum Marketers and
Convenience Store Association. Summit has a life-long history in our
Association and his family has been a great part of and supporter of
this Association over the years. I am confident FPMA is in very capable
hands and wish you great success, Summit. Cheers!

Update from FPMA
I would like to thank the members for their continued support of the
Florida Petroleum Marketers and
Convenience Store Association, Inc.
(www.fpma.org). This membership is
strong with its core values and firm belief
that the best is yet to come.
The big part of the financial stability
of this association is from John Tiffany’s
leadership as treasurer and then chairman
for the past three-plus years. The storm
has past, but there is more work to do.
I know John will be a big part of this as
immediate past chairman. I look forward
to his guidance and continued support
John’s vision for the future can be seen
at the 2013 Sunshine Food and Fuel Expo
changes that have been made are evident with our partnership with the Asian
American Store Owners Association, the
Poolside Networking Reception featuring the band ELI, and other surprises you
As the torch is being past from
John to Summit Shah, the transition is
seamless. The momentum will continue
to move FPMA to improve education,
membership and the 2014 Sunshine Food
and Fuel Expo.
