Chairman's Letter from
he 2017 Sunshine EXPO is almost here! This year's EXPO, taking place
July 20-24, at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Kissimmee, Florida, has added
additional events, world-class speakers and an expanded tradeshow
just for you, our members. If you haven't already registered or booked your
hotel room for this important event, please visit sunshineexpo.com to make
sure you join us and thousands of other industry leaders. The EXPO kicks off
once again with the popular Loss Prevention Conference on Friday, followed
by the prestigious Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Awards dinner that
evening. These two events were tremendous additions to the EXPO last year,
and they provide us another way to protect our businesses, our employees
and our customers, while also giving us the opportunity to recognize and
thank our law enforcement leaders who work tirelessly in keeping everyone
safe. The LP Conference is a great opportunity to take the tips and advice
you learn and strengthen your business.
Saturday features the important EXPO Education Day, with a number of
breakout sessions focused on topics such as combating ORC, cybersecurity,
identifying scamming devices and improving leadership. That evening, put
on your best derby attire, pick your favorite racehorse and join us for the first
annual Sunshine Derby Night at the Races, presented by Florida's Emerging
Retail Leaders. Finally, the EXPO concludes with the Tradeshow, featuring more
than 350 exhibitors and more than 1,200 attendees all gathered to grow their
business and network.
I'm very excited about the potential for this year's EXPO, in terms of growing, strengthening, and enhancing our member businesses. I'll see you at the
Gaylord Palms for the 2017 Sunshine EXPO! ●
