Pest Perspectives - May/June 2015 - (Page 6)

presidential perspective Out and About with FPMA The past few months have been busy to say the least. I want to thank our Executive Committee, Board of Directors and various committee members who have provided countless volunteer hours in efforts of maintaining our member services and realizing our Member Driven. Industry Focused objectives. On March 23 and 24, FPMA hosted its Legislative Tour in Tallahassee and it was one of the most informative and well-attended events in years. We also unveiled an all-new private tour of the Capitol led by FPMA's lobbyist Missy Timmons. The tour was a wonderful experience and was designed to educate first-timer attendees to the process. A huge thank you to our Governmental Affairs Chairs Sean Brantley and Suzanne Graham for their planning efforts, along with Timmons and Fusion Communications. And of course we couldn't do it without the continued support from our sponsors. This was the fifth consecutive year Univar Environmental Sciences stepped up as Presenting Sponsor. Other sponsors included Ensystex, Florida Sprayers, Syngenta, Bell Labs, Turf Signs and Forshaw. I hope you showed support for our friends at the University of Florida by attending the Southeast Pest Management Conference (SEPMC) in Gainesville, May 3-6. It was a great opportunity to get some first-class education for you and your team members. And of course on Monday night we all enjoyed the highly-anticipated Sapp Walkup Tailgate, sponsored by Syngenta Professional Products. As summer approaches, it's time to make your reservations for the 2015 "Summer in Paradise" in Key Largo. Yes, we are back in the Keys! Join us for another exciting week of education, networking, an all-new leadership challenge and popular pastimes such as fishing and golf. This annual event is a great way for you and your family to relax in paradise while enjoying the company of fellow PCOs and industry professionals. We will also continue to showcase the products and services from our industry's leading manufacturers and distributors. Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to seeing everyone at the upcoming events. Regards, Keith D.
