message from the fpma headquarters staff Moving Forward and Upward Change is a part of life. How we embrace it determines the outcome. I've carried this Jody Rosen Atkins mantra through my life's ups and downs. FPMA has experienced a lot of change during the past year, including the transition to a new office (now in Clearwater) and staff. There is no doubt that change can be uncomfortable, uncertain, and often scary. However, we can affect it, and what I have discovered is that FPMA members are resilient, passionate, and more than up for the challenge. We are a strong organization with a long history. We, as your new headquarters and staff, are committed to helping you carry the torch. Since April, we have: | 770763_MJ.indd 1 * Grown PMP membership by 13 percent and Allied Membership by 57 percent; * Implemented processes to help grow regional programming; * Transitioned to a new membership management software; * Established new sponsorship programs to support the FPMA Pest and Lawn Care Expo and the FPMA in Paradise summer conference; * Launched planning and marketing efforts for the FPMA Pest and Lawn Care Expo, including working with our Education Committee to build valuable CEU and Business Management programming; * Built working committees to further the FPMA mission. Moving forward, you can expect even more. In the coming months, keep an eye out for the following new initiatives. * Membership Survey - We want to know what's important to you as an FPMA member. * Expanded Member Benefits - We will be mapping out a strategic plan for building membership value. * Policies and Procedures - We will be working with the FPMA leadership to build a new Policies and Procedures handbook that will build efficiencies into the organization. * Strategic Plan - We will be working with FPMA leadership to develop a long-term strategic plan for the organization that will include initiatives for long-term financial sustainability; * Business Support - We will be growing opportunities for you to expand your business skills and management techniques, and grow your company; and continued on page 24 Pest Perspectives 7 10/1/15 7:39 PM
