GET INVOLVED WITH MPIGNY!
BY KELLY OTTO

I

n February, MPIGNY played a game
at its networking event that helped
members learn more about the volunteer
opportunities and chapter committees. In
case you missed it, here's a look at how you
can get involved with MPIGNY and make the
most of your membership!

Golf Committee

Save the date July 19 for our upcoming
annual Golf Outing. The organizing
committee is led by Andrew Barnes. If you
are interested to help this committee in any
way, contact andrew.barnes@stregis.com.

Networking Committee
Our Networking Event and our After Six
Mix events are brought to you by Annie
Kojundzija and her team. If you have
any interest in helping plan and execute
these types of events for MPIGNY, please
contact Annie for volunteer opportunities
at akk617@hotmail.com.

Auction Committee
This annual event is always fun + great
networking. The mixology competition
helps attendees get to know the sponsors,
plus we have great silent and live auction
prizes. If you have some creative ideas
and ways to get involved with the
biggest fundraiser for the chapter, get
in touch with Michelle Marie Adams at
madams@meetingelement.com.

Sponsorship Committee
Our events cannot happen without our
terrific sponsorship partners. MPIGNY
is always looking for sponsorship
committee members who are interested
in making connections with venues and
vendors interested to work with the
chapter. Contact Valerie Hoffman at
vhoffman23@gmail.com to find out more
about sponsoring an event or volunteering
with her committee.

Education Committee
The heart and soul of MPIGNY are our
fantastic education events. We work with

speakers who present interesting topics
to keep our members ahead of the curve
in the meetings and events industry. If you
have any ideas for the chapter regarding
education, or if you would like to volunteer
with the committee, contact Alexis
Oustinoff at aoustinoff@gmail.com.

Corporate Social
Responsibility Committee
MPIGNY is interested in giving
back to the community through
corporate social responsibility
initiatives. We have collected coats
for the homeless through NY Cares,
and we even ran a 5k through Yankee
Stadium to raise awareness for cancer
research. If you are interested to get
involved with other CSR programs for
MPIGNY, contact Judi McLaughlin at
jmclaughlin@helmsbriscoe.com.

Marketing & Communications
Committee
If you have a knack for writing and
developing content, you should join
the MarComm Committee. This team

manages the website, email marketing,
blog, chapter magazine, enewsletters
and more. Contact Joanna Puchalski at
jpuchalski@opalgroup.net for information
on how you can get involved.

Membership Committee
The Membership Committee makes
connections with all chapter members.
This is a great committee if you are looking
to meet some new industry colleagues.
From recruiting new members to staying
in touch with members to make sure they
renew their membership, this committee
can always use more help! Contact Julie
Green Davis at julie.green@etouches.com
for more information.

Leadership Committee
Are you interested to take your MPI
membership to the next level and join
the Board of Directors? Contact Director
of Leadership Development Matt Davis
at matt.davis@omnihotels.com. He
can provide information about the
application process and the benefits of
joining the board. @
