he headline might be a bit deceptive, but I am
referring, of course, to the 24th Annual MPIGNY
Golf Outing, which will take place on July 16 at
The Harbor Links Golf Club in Port Washington. If you
haven't attended this event in the past, you should
definitely put it on your calendar.
Don't be intimidated by the word "golf" ... all
skill levels - including "I've never even swung a
golf club" - are welcome. The format (best ball)
takes all the pressure off those who don't want to
let their foursome down. While there are some very
competitive individuals, the majority of attendees
come out to network and socialize with colleagues.
I've often referred to the outing as a trade show on
wheels. Every hole is sponsored, and our sponsors
can get very creative, offering players anything from a
cold beverage to a chance to win a new car. The Hilton
Halfway House has been a staple at this event for
years, providing players a place of respite where they
can enjoy a bite to eat and a creative cocktail.
After 10 years and $100,000, Destination Quebec
has stepped down as the Marquee Sponsor for the
golf outing. They were a great partner, and we look
forward to working with them again in the future.
However, we are happy to announce that Hard Rock
Café has signed on as the 2015 Marquee Sponsor. Last
year, we sold out every sponsorship opportunity, and
it looks like 2015 will be no different. In addition to our
Marquee Sponsor, all 18 holes have been sold. Having
said that, there are still a lot of great opportunities
available. But, hurry because they will go fast.
If you are a supplier, and not able to sponsor,
consider taking a foursome. Invite 2-3 planners as
your guests. On average, we have between 200-225
attendees at the golf outing, including sponsors
and players. Approximately 75-80 of the players are
meeting planners. What a great way to build relationships!
With it being so difficult to get appointments these days,
why not join us at the golf outing where you will have a
captive audience for the entire day?
If you are a planner, the good news is that we have
suppliers who would be happy to sponsor you for golf.
We all know how hard you guys are working these days,
but, as they say, "all work and no play ..." This is the
perfect opportunity to combine a bit of business and
pleasure. You'll have an opportunity to meet colleagues
and representatives from some of the finest hotels and
meeting facilities in the world. If you are interested in being

As one of the chapter's major fundraisers, we are also
looking for prizes for our raffle, which takes place at the
Awards Dinner immediately following the golf. If you able to
