I was born and raised in Southwest
Louisiana and graduated from Louisiana
State University in 1996. After college, I
moved to New York City to begin a career
in television production. I have worked for
15 years as a freelance production event
manager for companies such as Classic
Sports Network, The Food Network, MTV
Networks, NBC Sports and CBS Sports.
For 11 of these years, I managed live
television sporting events for CBS Sports,
including National Football League
Super Bowls, NCAA March Madness
and U.S. Open Tennis. I transitioned from
the television events industry to the
corporate events planning sector in the
financial industry. I was hired in the fall of
2011 as manager of meetings and events
for E*TRADE Financial. Our team of three
manages more than 100 meetings and
events for internal and external clients.
What prompted you to join MPIGNY?
How long have you been a member?
Describe any volunteer activities
I joined MPIGNY in early 2011 while
transitioning from television to
corporate event planning. The decision
was easy and obvious because of the
many educational and networking
opportunities that MPIGNY provides.
My membership has been one of my best
career investments, and MPIGNY has
provided amazing member benefits that
keep me up to date on current industry
trends and have introduced me to
outstanding members of our profession
who have become lasting friends, both
personal and professional. My first
year, I volunteered on the Education
Committee, and this year I volunteered
on the Fundraising Committee. Each has
proved to be a great learning experience

What is the best part about belonging
The best part of belonging to MPIGNY
is the relationships I’ve built with both
planners and suppliers in our industry.
It’s great to have an organization that
brings like-minded people together whose
thoughts and goals are all very similar.
What is the best part about working in
the meeting planning industry? What is
the greatest source of job satisfaction?
The best part about working in the
meeting industry is watching our
company create a meaningful event for
its attendees. As event planners, we
create an environment where others feel
comfortable, enjoy themselves and meet
their professional potential. Nothing is
more gratifying than hearing stories of
our attendees networking and building
their businesses based upon contacts
made at one of our events.

conscious decision to sample new

this knowledge to our events.
What are your future plans?
My personal goal is to achieve my CMP
certification. As an event manager, I want
to continue to learn about current trends
and technology in our industry to better
benefit my company’s meetings and
events. The event management industry
continues to evolve, and our organization
keeps its members at the forefront of that
