#feature WHAT'S IN MY TRAVEL BAG MEGHAN SCHILT, CMP - Global Events Manager - Apax Partners / / Immediate Past President - MPI Greater New York Traveling has taken on a whole new meaning for me in the past year, and with the additional miles logged and ever growing number of stamps in my passport, I have also become very particular about what my must-haves are in my travel bag. Recently, I upgraded my carry-on to the Tegra-Lite from Tumi - after one too many long lines at LHR with my laptop in my shoulder bag. Now my laptop travels in style and on wheels, and since the material is so lightweight, even when I fill it, the bag is never heavy. With not a lot of down time, I have zero time to get sick, so I make sure to always have Vitamin D with me, hand sanitizer and Wet Ones to wipe down my seat on the plane. The air on the plane is always dry, so before take-off and landing and usually one more time in between, I am sure to use the Evian spray combined with a light moisturizer from SkinMedica to keep the skin on my face hydrated. In an effort to be healthy, I have been skipping alcohol and caffeine before and during the flight, and I found 12 @MPIGNY SUMMER 2014 travel friendly packets of Justin's Almond Butter at Whole Foods - it's a great snack with an apple or celery sticks and better for you than peanut butter. Just in case, I always have fashion tape, a hair tie, two bobby pins, singleuse mini toothbrushes, fast response eye cream from MAC and my Essie nail polish color of the moment. If I can swing it, I stop by DryBar on my way to the airport for a quick blowout and get packets of shampoo/ conditioner, so I don't have to pack bottles yet still have a quality product. So with all of this plus my passport sporting its cover from Smythson, I am ready to go wearing my travel-friendly skirt from Haystacks and extremely comfortable flats from Cole Haan. Keeping my fingers crossed that I get TSA pre-check to ensure I have plenty of time in JFK's new Terminal 4. SUZANNE MEDCALF - Regional Manager, Hosted Buyer Programs - IMEX America / / Vice President of Marketing & Communications - MPI Greater New York Since January 1 of this year I have taken planes, trains and automobiles all over the U.S. and Europe - traveling almost 50,000 miles in 7 short months. I'll be honest, I check bags for almost every flight (I like options!), but my packing game has gotten much better in the almost four years I've worked for IMEX America. I've come up with travel uniforms I always make sure to bring with me. The most important thing to me is that my clothes fit well - I don't want to be worried about hemlines when I'm on stage at an MPI chapter event! I always travel with at least two pairs of trousers (my favorite are the Minnie and Pixie from J. Crew), a few cardigan's and some wellfitting blouses, and a blazer or two also make the cut. I like color, but in order to be sure my outfits are mix and match, I generally use jewelry or scarfs to make a statement. I also have a fabulous pair of pink wedges from J. Crew that I like to pair with all black everything. As a woman, I am always struggling with my beauty routine on the road - I have sensitive skin and stubborn hair so I find it's best to travel with the brands I know and love. In order to keep my toiletry bag stocked, yet skinny - I bought a bunch of stackable pots from Ricky's, and I use them for my moisturizers, sunblock and first-aid cream - just be sure to label them properly! I also make sure to travel with my favorite perfume (Hermes Un Jardin Sur Le Nil or Bobbi Brown Beach) as they give me a sense of home, while also acting as a pick-me-up at the end of the day! My miscellaneous items include a baseball cap, leggings and a cozy sweater (for those early morning Starbucks runs),
