Prolonged stress will eventually lead
CareerCast.com says that event coordination is
one of the Top 10 stressful jobs of 2015. Meeting
professionals are more prone to experience burnout
compared to other professions because of the
demands and expectations placed upon them by
clients - and sometimes even themselves.
As a supplier to the meetings industry, I've had the
opportunity to develop relationships with meeting
professionals. This has lead to many conversations
that have helped me better understand the
challenges that you face in your industry.
Jokima Hiller, a hospitality and restaurant
administration instructor at Missouri State
University, says that, "Sacrifice is part of the job.
Your goal is to carry out the dream of the client.
That's precious that we take into our hands. You
do whatever it takes to make that dream come to
fruition. For example, waking up at 2 a.m. to make
sure the coffee is ready."
